Mullets quickly became the biggest hair trend during the COVID-19 pandemic, but for some reason, as the world slowly crawls back it is normal state, Mullets have stuck around. And we’re all for it.

In the 80’s it was all about getting the party in the back as big as it could get, while keeping it strictly business up front. But times have changed, Mullets have evolved, and now the style comes in all different shapes and sizes.

This example is a great demonstration of what a contemporary Mullet can Look like. The barber, George Coady, of Trait Barbershop and Uppercut Deluxe Ambassador, is no stranger to Mullets and likes to get creative, customising the style to the customer.

In the video, George takes us through his approach to cutting a Mullet. He adds texture to the length on top and at the back, while fading the sides all the day down to the skin. The result is a subtle blend that keeps the power of the Mullet contained.  To style, George uses Uppercut Deluxe Clay. Clay adds texture, while maintain the natural finish resulting in controlled texture.
